Recycling: Waste Oil

Notice to all our residents and particularly the do-it-yourself oil changers. The waste oil collection site has been moved to a new location at the old city warehouse yard on Willow just past the railroad tracks. One-Stop Wash and Lube has terminated its agreement with the City of Colstrip for the collection of waste oil for our community. They have closed their business.

Please stop in the office at city hall and sign the ledger before disposing of your waste oil. The ledger signatures are required as part of our permit with the Montana Department of Environmental Quality. You can leave your container and someone will dump your oil and give you back your containers. If you leave waste oil on the weekend please come into city hall on Monday and sign the ledger.

Please continue to take advantage of this service that is provided to our city residents. Thank you for helping to keep our city and environment clean.

Whenever possible, the refuse generator shall attempt to break down materials so that they will readily fit into the container. All refuse shall be put into an authorized container. Refuse not put into the container will not be picked up.

The City of Colstrip does not have garbage collection on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, General Election Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
